The lesser-known Nazareth comes to light Alexandre Dias teams up with Sovaco de Cobra.
 Alexandre Dias
Alexandre Dias should be familiar to most readers of these pages from his transcriptions of the Pessoal da Velha Guarda radio programs and his Portuguese translations of the Boeuf Chronicles series.
Pianist, indefatigable researcher, and the worlds foremost collector of Ernesto Nazareth tune recordings (of which he has amassed almost 2,000), the 23-year-old Dias latest project brings to light the lesser-known compositions in Nazareths body of work.
To that end, he recorded a number of rare Nazareth tangos, sambas, waltzes, foxtrots, and classical piano pieces. These recordings and accompanying essays are being published serially on the Sovaco de Cobra website in both Portuguese and English.
A new installment is published every Friday. Keep tuned.
