Noel Rosa’s centennial
Noel Rosa was born on 11 December 1910 and died a mere 27 years later, leaving behind hundreds of immortal songs. The Brazilian music world is celebrating his centennial with pomp and circumstance.
Great selection of photos of Rosa, especially the last one at the outdoor cafe - reminds me of his song about the botequim customer harassing the poor waiter. Rio is commemorating him with free concert series, and an interesting cd with covers of his songs by various Brazilian artists.
